Even a person who has never had anything to do with industry or economics in his entire life has already managed to understand that during eleven years of military armed conflict with the aggressor country and three years of full-scale war, Ukrainian industry has suffered simply staggering losses. In addition to the destroyed industrial facilities, the energy sector has also suffered greatly.
It was Donbass that has always been the epicenter of the development of the fuel industry and metallurgy, which is now impossible, because the region is practically destroyed and has been under occupation since 2014. According to official data, at least 426 large and medium-sized enterprises were damaged or destroyed to the ground. Of course, this could not but affect economic development.
Despite this, the industry began to recover, although not on a pre-war scale. Somewhat positive dynamics can be seen starting in 2023. This was facilitated by the introduction of energy saving technologies, that is, the use of a number of measures to reduce electricity consumption. This is quite relevant now not only for environmental protection, but also given that our energy system is constantly exposed to hostile attacks.
Energy efficiency as a way of economic development
It is important to understand that electricity does not arise on its own. It is produced by nuclear power plants, and it also arises as a result of burning fossil fuels. Both of these processes are accompanied by significant emissions, which negatively affects the environment.
In addition, a significant amount of electrical energy is consumed by industry, which also has a negative impact on the atmosphere. Therefore, the introduction of measures for the energy efficiency of enterprises is a rather important and pressing issue. How can this be achieved in modern realities?
First of all, this is the use of modern environmentally friendly and economical engines on modern machines and equipment. Kubota engines have proven themselves quite well. These are products of a Japanese brand, designed in such a way that they significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. They are reliable, durable and can be used even in difficult extreme conditions.
Also, many enterprises have switched to the latest monitoring systems. They allow you to constantly monitor how much energy is spent, how effective these processes are. This allows you to optimize the operation of the equipment.
A fairly relevant topic today is the transition of industrial enterprises to renewable energy sources. For example, many companies have already installed solar panels or wind generators. This allows you to partially or completely cover the needs, as well as accumulate the surplus to use during shutdowns or peak load periods.
Currently, there are even special government programs that provide entrepreneurs with favorable loans for the purchase of such equipment or compensate for part of the invested funds. It is important to use energy-efficient materials and technologies, modernize equipment.
For example, the installation of modern Coremo engines and brakes significantly increases the working life of machines used in industry, construction and agriculture.
The main problems that arose in the industrial sector due to military actions
The war has had a significant impact on Ukrainian enterprises, causing numerous difficulties. It could not be otherwise, because military actions mean not only infrastructural losses, but also human ones. The main problems include:
The destruction of important infrastructure throughout the country. Due to military actions, bombing and occupation, many enterprises were destroyed and damaged. This led to the loss and reduction of production capacity. Many warehouses, offices and logistics centers were destroyed and closed.
Sales markets have significantly decreased. Part of the Ukrainian territories are under temporary occupation. Also, in general, the purchasing power of citizens has significantly decreased throughout the country. Many Ukrainians have left the country altogether. This has had a negative impact on business, because it has lost a fairly large number of clients.
We also had logistical problems. The destruction and blockade of ports, roads, bridges and railway connections, the closure of airports have led to the fact that the transportation of products both within Ukraine and abroad has become significantly more difficult.
Due to the high rates of mobilization and the large number of people who have left, a significant labor shortage has formed in the country, especially in the manufacturing sector.
Constant shelling of energy infrastructure, leading to power outages, complicates the work of many enterprises and factories. Even offices sometimes do not have the opportunity to work productively during the working day.
All of the above leads to a constant increase in the cost of finished products and services, which in turn leads to a decrease in demand for some goods.
